Information Security Manager

Location – Sale, Manchester hybrid

Salary £60.000 - £70,000

This role involves managing day-to-day cybersecurity operations, implementing security measures, and ensuring the protection of information assets. You will play a critical role in detecting, responding to, and mitigating security threats and is responsible for protecting the business from cyber threats.

Responsibilities

• Leadership of the Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure continuous monitoring and detection of security incidents.
• Oversight of security technology, including firewalls, intrusions detection and encryption.
• Promote a culture of security awareness.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, remediating issues identified.
• Implement recommendations to based results from external penetration tests.
• Provide support and guidance in relation to information security matters.
• Lead and manage a globally distributed team of information security analysts.
• Awareness of all information security principles, policies and procedures and ensure these are followed on a day-to-day basis.
• Report any security concerns, suspicions and/or breaches in a timely manner.
• Promote information security the department, encouraging best practice by ensuring your staff comply with the information security principles, policies and procedures.
• Monitor the workplace practice in line with Security policies and procedures and deal firmly with any instances of non-compliance.

Skills required

• Previous lead / senior experience managing the security posture within an organisation.
• Understanding of Microsoft Azure and its technologies – Defender, Sentinel etc.
• Strong understanding of Cybersecurity standards and frameworks - ISO 27001 and 27002, NIST, CIS.
• Good Understanding of computing technologies and how to interpret them.
• Ability to write and enforce Policies, Processes & Procedures.
• CISSP, CISM or CCSP certifications would be beneficial.
