A well-established business in Manchester are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join their team and take ownership of their data warehouse, visualisation tools, and support the seamless delivery of business processes. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of their BigQuery environment, managing ETL processes, and ensuring efficient data delivery to internal teams and 3rd parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the analytics (BigQuery) and visualisation environments (Looker/Power BI).
- Oversee the ETL processes to ensure data is delivered with a low failure rate.
- Manage access control and governance for the analytics systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR.
- Day-to-day bug fixing and troubleshooting.
- Create and maintain tables and views, as well as conduct data migrations when needed.
- Support the development of new business processes and ensure that all data processes are up-to-date and functioning smoothly.
Key Skills / Experience:
- Strong technical skills, including advanced SQL coding and data warehousing experience.
- Proven experience working with ETL processes and data integration.
- In-depth knowledge of access control and governance practices.
- Familiarity with Google BigQuery (Standard SQL) for analytics.
- Hands-on experience with Looker for data visualisation.
- Experience with Power BI highly desirable.
